Traveling Skis in the Midwest!

March 31st, 2010 - Posted by Erin Forest

I couldn’t wait to take this ski out! Just the thought of all the other women who have taken this out. Wow! Now I get the chance to put it through its paces. It made me feel great!

This was a Sunday at the end of February, you’d think being in the Midwest the weather would be cold and cloudy but on this day it was definitely spring conditions. All was good! The hill was crowded people smiling enjoying the great day! While in the lift line someone asked me why all the signatures on the skis? I explained that all the signatures on the ski were from women around the world who had tested it!

On my first run the skis performed great – sharp, quick turns, easy to initiate just what I love! Now skiing at Wilmot Mountain in Wisconsin with a little over 200 feet vertical I needed to take more than one run!! So back to the lift again. I got a chance to read the signatures on the ride up – wondering where Laura and Sue tested the ski or Zena (love her name!).

If the ski comes in your area, be sure to take it out. For me not only was it great to ski the new T-Nine line but to know there are other women out there taking turns!

Paint for Peaks at Taos

March 29th, 2010 - Posted by Adriana

This season at Taos we changed up the big fundraiser we do to benefit breast cancer. Because Taos is known as an art community, we decided to combine our reputations for awesome skiing/riding and art. Never Summer Snowboards along with Draven Longboards donated snowboards and long board skate boards and artists around the community and country used them as canvas' for some truly amazing art. The auction was held on March 6th, and we raised over $12,000 for the Susan G Komen New Mexico Affiliate!
Some of the most stunning are was done by students from the Chrysalis Alternative School, whose board raised over $2,000! For more visuals on the boards check out paintforpeaks.com.
Have a great summer.school2010sm

K2 Traveling Skis Visits Maryland

March 16th, 2010 - Posted by Allison

Wet but happy!

Wet but happy!

Rain, rain go away! Saturday, March 13 Big Pink did it's dance from Rudy's at Wisp Resort in Deep Creek Maryland. The week previous had been beautiful - bluebird skies, warm temps over firm snow with a nice soft cushion due to over 260 inches that as fallen here this season. As luck would have it, rain came in to make that Saturday a most undesirable ski day to most, so not only were there no crowds, there were no skiers at all! Late season plus rain made skiers stay away, too bad for them because the skiing was still good, and the Traveling Lotta Luv was at its best in these conditions. I had a great time with it, and so did the ladies that got to give it a try. Hope to see you next year, same time, same place!

February 23rd, 2010 - Posted by Adriana

The Traveling Skis arrived in New Mexico along with huge storm.  Thirty-four inches of down snow  fell in Taos over the last three days, and the skis handled it beautifully.  From  soft intermediate bumps to off piste  face shots, every lady that skied them came back smiling!  As we ship them out to their next destination, the sun is coming our and the bluebird skies are back!

Traveling Skis: Stowe, Vermont, USA

February 19th, 2010 - Posted by Anna Roberts

Hosted by: AJ’s Ski & Sports Stowe, Vermont

www.ajssportinggoods.com

The K2 Traveling Skis have made there way to the Green Mountains!  Testers had the opportunity to ski both Mt. Mansfield and Jay Peak located in northern, Vermont.  The weather was sunny, the Lotta Luvs shinned brightly and the girls had a blast!  We skied the bumps, glades, groomers, crud and even death cookies.  We danced with these skis through the frozen Vermont trees, hobblebush, evergreen swags and riverbeds we thought were frozen.   Some of us even got a little air underneath our feet.   AJ’s  Ski and Sports in Stowe, Vermont hosted the Traveling Skis for a few nights, before making their final debut at Jay Peak.  The dance went on for days and more signatures were added.   All fingers crossed to win a pair!
