All Terrain Rocker

Built with All-Terrain Rocker

The GotBack has somewhat of a split personality—both of them equally likeable. Mounted with AT bindings, its lightweight cap design and All-Terrain Rocker make a perfect companion for trail breaking and dancing through backcountry glades. But mounted with alpine bindings, it’s equally adept at slicing through cut-up crud at the resort. Think of the GotBack as your two best friends.

Technology

Powder-Specific Tip Design

Powder-Specific Tip Design
The widest point of a powder tip is 7cm back from the standard contact point. The design adds stability and predictability while skiing and is less likely to hook or grab in light crusts or variable conditions.

Progressive Sidecut

Progressive Sidecut
Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.

SnoPhobic Topsheet

SnoPhobic Topsheet
Snow collecting on a ski can add weight to a climb. Our SnoPhobic tops keep you light with a new snow-repellent topsheet. The running surface along the bottom of a ski is hydrophobic by design, so we've developed a thinner version of the same material to use on the Back model-specific topsheets. Applying wax to the topsheet increases snow shedding performance.

Tip and Tail Holes

Tip and Tail Holes
Holes in the tip and tail are not only the attachments points for K2 skins, but they also fit the functional needs of a backcountry skier including the ability to build a rescue sled or construct various ski anchors. The holes are equipped with removable plugs.

Carbon Web

Carbon Web
Carbon Web pushes the balance between weight and strength gaining downhill performance without adding additional mass. Located in the tail and the forebody of the skim the Carbon Web increases edge grip when you need it most in the backcountry.

Bioflex Cores

Bioflex Cores
All K2 women’s skis use a combination of fir and spruce in a unique core known as BioFlex, a process where a dense fir core underfoot is fused with lightweight spruce at the tip and tail to reduce swing-weight. For 2012, we have developed three variations of the Bioflex core specifically tuned to a target performance:Bioflex 1 – 60% fir and 40% Spruce – Swing weight reduction with added forgivenessBioflex 2 – 70% fir and 30% Spruce – Reduced swing weight with added performanceBioflex 3 – 80% fir and 20% Spruce – Increased performance, strength, and durability

Climbing Skins

All Terrain Rocker

All Terrain Rocker
ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility
CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound

All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.

      Comments about K2 Skis GotBack:

I tried these out in Vail on a Powder Day, at first I was a bit tentative because they are so fat underneath, but I soon realized that the more agressive and confident I became on them, the better they responded- they were fast and fabulous; which made for a Super Fun Pow Day. I even dipped into some bumps and had a good time. Can't Wait for more Snow!

        Comments about K2 Skis GotBack:

I got this ski with the idea that it would be my new powder/back-country ski, and was a bit concerned with how well they would ride in more hard-packed conditions. I tried them out this weekend, and was thrilled to discover that they rocked both the groomed, hard-packed, and chunky stuff at Snowmass, as well as the deep powder in the Bowl at Aspen Highlands. Haven't gotten into the super large moguls yet, so will have to hold off judgment there. That said, I think I just found my new everyday ski!

Baby gets back on these skis. I work on the mountain at Schweitzer, and I love it that I can put these on in the morning and not have to worry about changing as soon as it gets cut up. Very manageable on the hard stuff. But even better, they're heaven in the powder; talk about getting wings...

I just returned from a week of Heli-skiing with CMH. They have added the Gotbacks to their selection. I found them to be great and loads of fun. I skied them in thigh deep powder, some windpack, through Alpine terrain, steep tree runs, cutblocks and even logging roads. They were great. I would definitely recommend these for varied terrain.

                Comments about K2 Skis GotBack:

This is the perfect ski and my favorite for skiing the conditions and terrain in Jackson Hole. Skiing at Jackson is like a box of chocolates, always sweet and you never know what you're going to get. Conditions can go from deep powder to crud to corn depending on the altitude and changing weather conditions. You need a ski that you can rely on and keep you charging all day.

The Gotback is 102 underfoot, which provides the stability I need to be aggressive in powder and on hardpack. They float when I need them to, carve effortlessly and hold speed through variable terrain. The 135cm shovel has a mini rocker which keeps the tips on top of the snow.

This is the perfect ski to have in your quiver for powder days and my choice for everyday skiing.
