Best Uses
This season I decided to go "skinny" - 80mm underfoot - with the K2 ShesBack (121/80/107). My ShesBack skis are mounted with the Rottefella Freedom NTNs. In past seasons, my one ski quiver was the PayBack (129/92/115) and the Dawn Patrol (125/89/112) before that. My first few days on the ShesBack were in moderate powder and light chop and these skis performed surprisingly well thanks to the speed rocker. On hard pack, these skis are very responsive and easy to manipulate. At speed, there is no chatter, which is in contrast to fatter, more rockered skis. This ski is stiff enough to hold an edge on hard pack, yet flexible enough to be really fun in the bumps. In addition, ShesBack skis are lightweight (1420g), which facilitates a nimbleness for quicker transitions through the bumps. This lightweight ski will be good for backcountry skiing and ski touring. Con: not going to be the ski I take out on big powder days. Overall, I'm really impressed with the versatility and maneuverability of this ski. (I am 5'7" tall and weigh 130 lbs)
