Comments about K2 Skis Shuksan:
Wanted the universal ski mountaineering skis, switched from very light but too soft skis, I decided for the Shuksan and I can say just one thing - great choice! In our High Tatras, you can find different conditions in one short downhill ride and I can count on this skis every meter of ride. Hardpack, crust or powder (unfortunately so rare previous winters) - you can ride in every conditions and skis are still light and fast uphill. With the TLT speed bindings it is the best skimountaineering tool.

Size ChartSwiss Guide and owner of Pro Guiding Service, Martin Volken, approached K2 years ago about building a randonnee ski for serious ski mountaineering. It needed to be lightweight for blitzing the routes he was pioneering in Washington’s Cascades, but also rock solid for tackling imposing 1st descents such as Arachnophobia on Spider Mountain. So K2 built him a ski: two sheets of metal, stout flex, lightweight, and extremely versatile. He approved and called it the “Shuksan”, which is Nooksack Indian for “steep and rugged”. Nice choice, Martin.
