  • Progressive Sidecut

    Progressive Sidecut

Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.
  • BIO Core Tech

    BIO Core Tech

For backcountry skiers conscious of their caloric and environmental output, our Adventure skis use a blended core of aspen, bamboo, and Paulownia, (a reforestation plantation tree similar to bamboo) that has consistent density, great strength-to-weight ratio, and fast-growth carbon-sequestration. The core is just one component of the ski, but the result is 15% weight savings over our traditional fir/aspen cores and a lessened footprint, reducing the impact of the ski on you and the winter world.
  • Tip and Tail Holes

    Tip and Tail Holes

Holes in the tip and tail are not only the attachments points for K2 skins, but they also fit the functional needs of a backcountry skier including the ability to build a rescue sled or construct various ski anchors. The holes are equipped with removable plugs.
  • Flat Tails

    Flat Tails

All Adventure skis come with flat tails, providing backcountry utility by allowing you to plunge the tails easily into firm snow.
  • Skin Clip Arc

    Skin Clip Arc

The tails of our Adventure skis are designed with a concave notch to ensure that the skin clip, regardless of size or skin brand, stays securely centered on the tail.
  • Hybritech Construction

    Hybritech Construction

This wider-waisted construction combines the accuracy and power performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
  • TNC Construction

    TNC Construction

Weight reduction is paramount in the BackSide model line. We've tooled a BackSide specific TNC Metal Laminate Construction that lessens weight wile providing an accurate and responsive feel.

I used sometimes in firm snow, sometimes in soft and spring snow. Light enough for use with skins, it slams a little with very hard snow

      Comments about K2 Skis SideShow:

Awesome ski. Bought it for guiding. With a light binding (Dynafit) it works perfectly fine for long climbs. Excells in all conditions. If the powder is balls-deep a bit wider would be nice, but it works. At high speed it is maybe a bit to agile... All in all i prefere it to the hardside.

Great on powder, precise on hardpack

      Comments about K2 Skis SideShow:

I have tested this new ski at the end of january for 2 days of powder. It is a great ski! Very powerful and easy at the same time. Very balanced flex and a bit of rocker allow easy turn in deep snow but on the hardpack, the sidewall structure holds the edge impeccably.
My first choice for freeriding and very short climb.
Probably the youngsters and fittest skiers can use it on long climbs to ensure a great downhill.

Remember when powder skis were 90mm underfoot and a nightmare on firm snow? How quickly the world changes. The K2 SideShow is actually for those who ski more firm snow than soft. Though still admirable in powder, the metal laminate sidewall construction will etch laser sharp arcs on translucent hardpack that will leave the racers gawking. It’s also light enough that you won’t be surprised when you see it utilized as a powerful, high performance touring ski.
