Mod Technology
Mod Monic
Bioflex Cores
RoX Technology
A K2 ski is designed with a primary core and structural layers that determines the flex.
MOD: Suspension
A secondary core that essentially acts as a suspension system quieting the ride of the ski but does not affect the overall flex of the ski.
Carbon Web: Increased Edge Hold
A raised X-Shaped carbon support is laid on top of the MOD furthest from the core to increase the torsional rigidity for greater edge hold and grip.
Speed Rocker: Effortless Initiation and Accuracy
Without Rocker, a ski with this much torsional rigidity strength would be nearly impossible to initiate into a turn.
All Terrain Rocker
CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound
All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.
Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.

I'm a beginner/intermediate but obviously wanted a ski I would not soon outgrow in terms of skill. Most skis are listed as being intermediate to expert. However, after demo'ing another type of ski by another company, I realized intermediate means different things. Those aforementioned (unnamed)skis made me feel out of control. Speed control has been an issue of mine and those skis made it worse. But these K2 superfree (which are suitable for expert level and so I'll never outgrow them) are doing just the opposite! I never skied better. Speed control is no longer an issue. I had also demo'd another pair from a company I won't name. And they did suit my skill level and so I did ski better in those than I did with the rentals (and certainly better than with the other pair I had demo'd) BUT I was longing for something more spectacular. I got it with the K2 superfree! And the fantastic design of the 50th anniversary edition is just an awesome bonus!
