Pros
- Fast For Me On Cruisers
- Fun In Mary Jane Moguls
- Hp-better Than Expected
- Super-boot To Thigh Pow
Cons
- A bit on the heavy side
- But With Performance-ok
Best Uses
- Fast Tuck Copper Mtn Runs
- Powder In Snowmass Trees
- Powder In Steamboat Trees
Ski in Colorado. Prefer powder, powder in trees, moguls, and cruisers if I have to. It has taken a while to get used to the Aftershock's capabilities, and the extra width. As I put the ski in different conditions on different Colorado mountains, the ski handles them very well. If there is a problem in a given terrain, it usually is me that is the problem and not the ski. LOOKING forward to more days on the AFERSHOCK!

Pros
- Good edge hold
- Great Turn Initiation
Cons
Best Uses
- all terrain
I am a 60 yr old female skier who used to race recreationally. I bought these Aftershocks as used demos 167cm with Marker bindings at the beginning of this season. I told the tech that I was looking for a ski that was a solid carver with good turn initiation and one I could ride down the mountain without turning for when I wanted to rest my legs. Most fat skis require you to turn constantly when standing over the ski and that wears me out. These skis make my day! They are great for cruising, soft mushy bumps and have great carving ability! I am able to stay on the mountain longer with my K2 Aftershocks so I am one happy skier!
Pros
- Quick Turning On Groomers
Cons
- Could Be The Tune
- Not As Much Edge Hold
- Slow Turning Off Piste
Best Uses
- Soft snow
I skied the Aftershock in Whistler. I liked the turn shape skiing the 181s. I was hoping the rocker would be a bit quicker turning off piste and wish for better edge hold on steeper groomers. As always, they were demos and the tune might not have been to my taste. I am going to try them again as I am looking for a replacement for my AC 50s, a great ski, however a bit dated and want to try some rocker.
Pros
- Good carvers
- Great On Hardpack To Icy
- Super Stable At Speed
Cons
- Never found any
Best Uses
I demo-ed these at Whistler on a bright sunny inverted day after a week with no snow. In the hard conditions I knew I'd have more fun on carving skis than my Volkl Mantras which I love for any crud or powder. These skis made the minimal snow conditions so much fun! Ripped 5000 vertical from Peak to Creek and went back for another lap even faster. These skis will just keep putting a smile on your face all day long. I'm amazed to read that they do well in powder as they seemed so good on the hard pack. Maybe there really is one ski to rule them all?
Pros
- Floats in Powder
- Nice Carver
- Perfect For Free Skiing
- Perfect for teaching
- Responsive
Cons
- none
Best Uses
- The One Ski Quiver
It is my preferred teaching ski this season. I can go from Level 1 skier to ripping down the double black diamonds without having to second guess my ski choice of the day. Groomers, powder, crud, or hardpack, this ski can do it all.
Pros
- Does it all
- Good Carving Ability
- Smooth Ride
Cons
Best Uses
- Downhill
- Groomed Terrain
- Moguls
Truly an all-mountain ski, I took these puppies from Mont-Tremblant to Chamonix and they performed extremely well in all conditions! Although heavy to hold, the skis are surprisingly light on your feet in moguls, glades or powered. Extremely versatile. Must say I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Just got back from Italy and we had off piste powder, groomed and then icy piste. All taken without any problem, I was amazed at the all round capabilities of this ski (my personal performance was a different matter). In particular the powder and carving abilities, first time that I have managed to find a ski that ticked both boxes. Am off again next week and will definately try for these again.

While I am a true beginner since I've only been on skies once before (I'm a boarder), by my second run I was able to control short turns to control my speed but was going down the mountain faster than other people (maybe because I wasn't really sure what I was doing) but was able to stay on my feet without doing the pizza pie/french fry to stop and go. The next day, I was very sore because I fell a lot my first run (all this without lesson one) but second run much more successful (falling only a few times); even though of the rough day on the slopes, I'm very excited to get back out on these aftershocks and possible to hang up my boarding days as I'm 41 this year and am looking for stability/fun/excitement/ as I get older; where as a board is somewhat a young mans sports even though I'm still looking for kickers, rails, trees, and diamonds. Thanks to the [@]staff for pointing me towards these skies.I only rate these skies as a 4 because I am not knowledgeable enough about skiing in general to really talk about differences but - I'm a happy customer thus far.

Great SOFT snow ski in any snow conditions: Powder, Sierra Cement, Varied snow conditions from SOfT Groom with ridges, piles of snow & different snow temperatures. 4th of July @ 75 degrees just tore up the mountain. Good in heavy western crud and turn initiation a pleasure. The tip just floats over everything & first impression is that it takes the teraine out of the mountain...
However, it is not a carving ski and on hard pack you can slide down the mountain safely but carving turns is not in the ski.

Worked well this weekend in the Austrian Alps, conditions were only fair but the 174cm handled it all top to bottom. Floats great, carves great, handled the garbage in the afternoon. Best skis I've used so far.
