SKI TECHNOLOGY
All-Terrain Rocker
Featuring an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Marker K2/ERS System
The Marker K2/ERS (Energy Response System) is used exclusively on the T:Nine skis. The integrated hubs are closer together from toe to heel to accommodate a smaller boot sole and maintain smooth flexing of the ski. The women’s-specific binding features a Triple-Pivot Comfort Toe and Twin Cam 2 Heel. The Marker K2/ERS system is a full pound lighter than the previous binding system.

Integrated Hub Technology
Most precise transmission of power on wider skis
Titanal hubs are imbedded into the core of the ski for the most direct transmission of power. The system hubs are functionally wider with a 50mm footprint, which decreases the distance between the binding and the edge of the ski for added performance.

Bioflex Core
All of our women’s skis use a combination of fir and spruce in a unique core known as BioFlex, a process where a dense fir core underfoot is fused with lightweight spruce at the tip and tail to reduce swing-weight. With the Alliance’s involvement, K2 developed a technology specific for women: lightweight and easy to maneuver, yet sturdy and high-performance.

Metal Laminate Skis
Our women’s skis use a thinner layer of Titanal compared to the A.M.P. line which further reduces the overall weight of our women’s skis while still providing the dampening characteristics produced by a metal laminate ski construction

Women's Specific MOD Monic
Although the location for this targeted mass dampening is consistent between our men’s and women’s models, the amount of focused mass is different between the two lines of skis. Through extensive testing with the members of our Alliance team, we have selected the optimal MOD Monic mass for each model to dampen vibrations and provide a smoother ride. The women’s MOD Monic is designed to accent the overall look without sacrificing function.

Women's Specific MOD Structure
The optimum location and thickness of mass differs from men to women. The aesthetic look of the women's Mod shape has also been customized with a softened, more shaped appearance that graphically ties into the design of the skis.

Progressive Sidecut
Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhances the versatility of wider waisted skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works great on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.
All of our women’s skis are built with the sidecut shifted two centimeters forward relative to the standard sidecut for a men’s ski. This accommodates the anatomical fact that the center of mass for a woman is generally much lower than that of a man. Shifting the sidecut forward places the center of mass of the average woman in an optimum position over the ski for more control and easier turn initiation.

Forward Mounting Position
All T:Nine skis are built with the midsole of the ski 2 cm forward relative to the standard midsole point for a men’s ski. This accommodates the anatomical fact that the center of mass for a woman is generally much lower than that of a man. By moving the midsole forward, it places the center of mass of the average woman in the optimum position over the ski, allowing for more control and easier turn initiation.

Green
Bamboo and Paulownia stringers are used to add lightweight strength to the ski cores. These wood species are fast growing and locally sourced making them a better renewable choice than traditional cores.

Cap Construction
Durable and lightweight “cap” skis are built by a sophisticated molding process that envelopes the core and internal materials with the top layer of the ski. Used throughout our ski line, cap constructions can be assembled with a variety of different cores. These variations, such as glass and/or metal materials, are the determining factors of the skis’ performance.
Sporting an 82 mm waist and progressive sidecut, the 2010-11 K2 Lotta Luv ski offers expert-level all-mountain women skiers the ultimate in performance and unmatched versatility. The Metal-Laminate construction in the T:Nine Lotta Luv and Mod Monic dampen the ride in the most varied terrain. The All-Terrain Rocker provides added tip lift for soft snow and quicker turn initiation on groomers for control and confidence in any condition.
