  • All Terrain Rocker

    ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility
    CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound

All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.

  • Mod Technology

    Mod Technology

High-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected.
  • Progressive Sidecut

    Progressive Sidecut

Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.
  • Mod Monic

    Mod Monic

A Focused Mass-DampenerThe Monic is a solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with the Mod structure to focus mass-dampening at a targeted location.
  • Hybritech Sidewalls

    Hybritech Sidewalls

Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions. The construction combines the accuracy and power performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
  • Integrated Hub Technology

    Integrated Hub Technology

Titanal hubs are imbedded into the core of the ski for the most direct transmission of power. The system hubs are functionally wider with a 50mm footprint, which decreases the distance between the binding and the edge of the ski for added performance.
  • Metal Laminate

    Metal Laminate

Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, metal-laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal-laminates provide dampened, accurate, unshakable performance ideal for expert-level skiers.

    Comments about K2 Skis Rictor:

WOW - doesn't even come close to describing the feeling of these skis. Took them out for a full-day - started on fresh groomers in the morning which turned into crud by mid-afternoon. Threw in some powder runs for fun - not expecting these skis to surf like they did - and couldn't wipe the grin off my face after!!! These babies will float over groomers and you'll think you are flying and then when groomers turn to crud and get cut up, these babies will just cut through and you will still think you are floating over the ground. The stability, balance, and easy turn initiation you get from the Rictors will make you never want to take them off! In powder, they will give you the same easy cutting into turns and let you float. Basically, best bang-for-the-buck skis around! Well done K2!!!

      Comments about K2 Skis Rictor:

My last pair of skiis were K2 Apache X . Again,I was looking for something that would hold up for our icy Ontario winter conditions as well as annual trips out west.Last year during Whistlers Telus festival I demo'd the Rictors. They seemed to float well in powder and run great in the rollers. In addition the skiis turn agressively when required on our icy snow back in Ontario! Got what I wanted.

      Comments about K2 Skis Rictor:

The Rictors have made me a better skier. I'm an eastern skier who goes all over the mountain. Before my Rictors I had K2 5500's with a 68 waist -- great on hardpack but too narrow for any kind of powder and they would get thrown around in the choppy stuff. I would say Rictors are comparable on the hard stuff (not quite as quick edge-to-edge due to the 80 mm width, but better going straight); significantly better in the fresh stuff (as long as we're not talking about 3 feet worth); and insanely great on the choppy stuff. In fact, I first demoed them last year against a bunch of other skis in choppy conditions and they felt significantly smoother. They also skied great on a powder day at Keystone Colorado. I think a lot of it has to do with the Rocker construction that just lifts the front edge over any obstacles and gives more floatation. It's also very maneuverable: I used to hate moguls but now they're actually fun. Rocker gives them a shorter effective edge, so even though they're 174's like my last skis, they ski a lot shorter. Other than being a little slower edge-to-edge, the only other con is that they're a bit heavy; but once I put them on I don't feel it. Love these skis, and I would highly recommend them to any eastern skier.

      Comments about K2 Skis Rictor:

I only enjoy skiing Black or double black diamond terrain. I hate blue cruisers! After trying every top of the line Demo ski I could rent, these skis were the best. They are not [*]racing skis, they are "[*]to the walls", all out, extreme terrain skis. I've used them in 30 inches of fresh powder, and for not being a powder ski, they float incredibly well. My first use was at Snowbird, it was warm spring skiing where the snow was like mashed potatoes, and the steeper the terrain the more impressed I became. Then we hit the moguls. And we hit them hard. Big moguls too. These skis perform well.

      Comments about K2 Skis Rictor:

Bought these ski's on Feb 5th. Finally got to use them in the mountains. Went to Sunshine Resort(Banff). It snowed 8 inches the night before. These ski's performed above my expectations. Pertty much skied "Great devide" and the "Tee Pee Town" glades & shutes. These ski's were awsome in the G-S run that leads into the shutes. I push these ski's into the turns and the harder I pushed the more rsponsive they were. Going into the glades the ski's were easy to manage and held the turns. In the mogals they were a dream. The best I'v skied in a long time. Only con is that they weigh 2 lbs more than my Rossy B-2's.(182's), (K-2 AMP 167's) Although I wouldn't trade them for anything. :-)

      Comparing Rictor and Aftershock

        Comments about K2 Skis Rictor:

Advanced skier in Colorado. Age 168, 6ft, 170 lbs. About 60% moguls, 20% groomed, 20% powder. Mostly blacks. Currently skiing 167 Recons, which I like. Demo'd both Aftershock and Rictor on same day, switching back and forth. Both 167 length.

The AFtershock skiied same as my Recons on groomed and bumps, felt immediately comfortable. Handled 10" fresh powder and cut-up powder very well, much better than Recons.

With Rictor I had problems in over-steering, ski is 15M turn radius (167) vs 16M on 167 Aftershock and my Recons. During most of day didn't feel comfortable with them due to quickness, and a fair amount of instability on groomers. Nose seemed to wander and chatter. Later in day, decided to give Rictor another chance and spend 90 minutes on some medium cut-up bumps. Started making some respectable turns.

The Rictor might ultimately be the best ski for me, since I do mostly bumps and short swing turns. But plan to do more demo.

I have only used the Rictors in Michigan so far in every condition, krud, hard pack groomed, heavy powder, ice and wet soft snow. They performed great in every condition. They hold their edge on the hard packed and ice, ride througthe krud with no problem. They are quick in the turns and moguls. They float through the powder. Definitely an all terrain ski. Great job K2. Only con, wish they were still made in the USA!

I am 54 and the last time I skied was two years ago. I only get to ski once a year and I decided to rent demo skis, hopping to improve my skying and have more fun in the slopes. I tried the K2 Photon and several other compatible skis from other manufactures. I was afraid the K2 Rictor were above my skiing level, but was surprise to find it easy to ski, with great carving capability and sufficiently forgiving. It will definitively encourage me to ski more often, after all Chile is only 3 hours away from were I live.

              Comments about K2 Skis Rictor:

I live and ski in Europe and bought these for a little under the list price before going to ski the Dolomites for 6-days.

After that experience if I had to replace them I would pay a thousand bucks for a pair or Rictors if I had to.
              They were wonderful.

Was with a big group of about 100 on the trip and three of us had new Rictors. We simply loved them. Could do anything we tried. Two of us are experts and have been on lots of skis--we agreed that these were our new all-time favorites.

Best story was from an intermediate guy in our group who has skied with the same 5-6 guys for years and he says habitually is last in their pack.
On evening #2 in the bar he could not stop smiling because he was out performing his buddies for the first time ever--his only change-- new Rictor skis.
OK, yes they are heavy, but only when you're carrying them---not when you're ridin' them!
              Great product. Thanks K2.
