Technology

Speed-rox-technology
Core: Strength and Structure
A K2 ski is designed with a primary core and structural layers that determine the flex along the entire length of the ski.

MOD: Suspension
Added on top of the ski’s primary core is a secondary core called the MOD structure, which essentially acts independently as a suspension system, quieting the ride of the ski. The key is that the MOD structure does not change the overall flex of the ski.

Carbon Web: Increased Edge Hold
A raised X-shaped pattern has been added to specific regions of the MOD structure to support a Carbon Web. This X-shaped carbon support is furthest from the core to increase torsional rigidity, for greater edge-hold and grip. It works independently of the primary core so the overall longitudinal flex is unchanged.

Speed Rocker: Effortless Initiation and Accuracy
The addition of Speed Rocker or All-Terrain Rocker makes turns effortless with greater accuracy and edge hold.
Speed-rocker
ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility
CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound

This slightly elevated tip and increased tip length provides effortless initiation and flawless transitions, while camber along the rest of the running surface delivers precision, power, and edge-hold.
Simply put, Speed Rocker offers high performance precision and edge hold on firm snow.
Speed Profile
Wood-core
K2 uses a variety of wood cores for energy, rebound, and a liveliness only found in wood core skis. Our wood cores consist of a blend of different species of wood based on the desired flex and target performance of the ski.
Metal-laminate
Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and titanal above and below the core. Metal Laminates provide damp, accurate, unshakable performance, ideal for expert and advanced level skiers.
Marker-k2-mx-system
Working in conjunction with the integrated hubs, the K2/Marker MX system provides unmatched precision and control on our Precision Piste A.M.P models. The system uses Marker's Inter-Pivot Heel technology and lightweight Triple-Pivot Comfort MX toe. This toe comes complete with a cross-mounted spring, stainless steel AFD, and backwardd release function.
Hybritech-sidewall
Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions. The construction combines the accuracy, power, and performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
Carbon-web
Enveloping the Mod structure with a carbon weave where the strands of carbon are laid at precise angles for an additional level of torsional rigidity on the secondary core. This keeps the ski light but gives you the additional torsional strength where you need it most.
Mod-technology
High-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected.

Comments about K2 Skis AMP Bolt:

On the top of all obvious pros for this type of ski (stability and speed are its biggest strengths) I was surprised by its ability to make short turns (though you have to push it hard - especially to finnish the turn)

Was clocked at 104.8 kmh last saturday night but in moguls in the morning. This skis does thing it shoud not be able to do. Yes a super GS carver, that is lively enough for the short highly invloved turns if you dare pushing it. And as good as my pld Mamba ( yes that old) in moguls.Stiff and lively and always ready to play. But you need to push it hard to discover more than expected from this skis

Excellent ski for patrolling and cruising on steep groomed and sometimes icy conditions. Very lite and lively with a ton of energy exiting short radius turns. This ski is really at home at high speeds, very damp and stable. The K2 TNC used to be my all time favorite ski. The BOLT is now my new all time favorite!

Comments about K2 Skis AMP Bolt:

The Bolts are great! decided to change my all mountain Rictors for a more specialised hardpack off piste ski so got the Hardside and to get the most out of my predominatly on piste skiing, a pair of Bolts. either i have somehow become a much better skier myself or these skis have made me one. these skis make me go much faster whilst whilst in more control, straightlining and it sticks well to the snow while fast short or long arching are a pleasure. Have used on hard pack off piste and been fine .
