All-Terrain Profile

Wood Core

Wood Core
K2 uses a variety of wood cores for energy, rebound, and a liveliness only found in wood core skis. Our wood cores consist of a blend of different species of wood based on the desired flex and target performance of the ski.

Metal Laminate

Metal Laminate
Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and titanal above and below the core. Metal Laminates provide damp, accurate, unshakable performance, ideal for expert and advanced level skiers.

K2/Marker MXC System

K2/Marker MXC System
The all-new K2/Marker MXC binding system is our widest ski binding system, with a 54% wider attachment than our previous MX system. The system incorporates zinc feet that extend toward the ski edge for the most accurate power transfer, resulting in improved edge hold and control on wider-waisted skis. The binding stand height has also been reduced by 12%, resulting in a 10% weight savings.

AT RoX Technology

AT RoX Technology
Core: Strength and Structure
A K2 ski is designed with a primary core and structural layers that determine the flex along the entire length of the ski.

MOD: Suspension
Added on top of the ski’s primary core is a secondary core called the MOD structure, which essentially acts independently as a suspension system, quieting the ride of the ski. The key is that the MOD structure does not change the overall flex of the ski.

Carbon Web: Increased Edge Hold
A raised X-shaped pattern has been added to specific regions of the MOD structure to support a Carbon Web. This X-shaped carbon support is furthest from the core to increase torsional rigidity, for greater edge-hold and grip. It works independently of the primary core so the overall longitudinal flex is unchanged.

Speed Rocker: Effortless Initiation and Accuracy
The addition of Speed Rocker or All-Terrain Rocker makes turns effortless with greater accuracy and edge hold.

Hybritech Sidewall

Hybritech Sidewall
Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions. The construction combines the accuracy, power, and performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.

Progressive Sidecut

Progressive Sidecut
Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.

Skin Grommets

Skin Grommets
The new freeride tip and tail grommets are a clean, simple design that no longer requires a plug. The durable rubber coating disguises a slit designed to accommodate both the Z clip for our skin attachments, and the components to build a rescue sled.

Comments about K2 Skis AMP Rictor 90XTI:

I currently ski K2 Apache Recons and love them. Was asking myself why I was bothereing to demo the Rictor 90XTI or any of the others I tried? After few runs on the XTI 90's my thoughts were answered. The Rictors were superior to the others and simply do everything my Recons do but quicker, easier and better. K2 simply knows how to make a ski!!! I have owned and enjoyed other brands but Will move into my second K2s with the Rictor. What a ski!!! Rented figuring a waste of time. Returned planning to purchase.

I'm a 54 year old skier that has been everywhere and skied everything. These skis do everything I ask of them. I only used a portion of their performance, and they give me a lot of confidence.

Rented these as demos in Vail for 13 days, started out on the 177 which flet like I was overskiing them, moved up to to 184 & found all the ski I needed & wanted. Great on the groomers, excellent in the powder. Diverse all terrain skis that related well to my skiing style which is more GS cruisy mirrored to my longboard surfing style. Purchased the skis at the end of my vacation & look forward to strapping them on again for several years to come.

Comments about K2 Skis AMP Rictor 90XTI:

The Rictor 90 is a sneaky ski. When I first hopped on it, it did not immediately excite me, but after a few runs I was totally in love. It's not the kind of ski with a big personality that lets you know what it wants straight a way. The 90 is more subtle, letting you make the calls and backing you up all the way. It is a bit of a chameleon, playing carver, crudbuster, and playfull freeride with equal ease.

Comments about K2 Skis AMP Rictor 90XTI:

My first thoughts after putting them on were: "Help, they gave me surfboards!!" Compared to other skies they appear simply huge...but then I was surprised, how easy they were to be handled. We had different terrain, deep snow to very hard groomed slope. These skis can do it all. Perfect grip and easy from edge to edge. However, I would say it comes at a price. They need more power riding on the edge compared to slim skis and the stability at high speed straight is limited.
All together I would say, these skies are like a dog: As long as you know, what you want them to do, they will do exactly that...if you get weak, they bite.
This is definitely no ski for the beginner. But for those who know, what they do its pure fun.

1 day on these so far-It was also my first day at Aspen highlands. ~ 6 inches of wind blown snow. Took these in bowl on the second run and skied trees all day. So easy to learn to ski-so easy to get to float and very predictable in the trees!

I'm a woman and I love these skis. A bit bummed that I couldn't get SuperBright 90 in my size, but so happy with the Rictor 90ti! I'm 5'5" and 145 pounds, and this ski (170cm) is lightweight, responsive, versatile & loves all size turns. This size ski will be the perfect all-around-do-it-all-one-ski-quiver for me.

If you are going to own ONE pair of skis, this is the one to buy...It rips on everything from firm groomers to 6+ inches of powder. I love the versatility of this ski! I work for the race dept. in Steamboat and this ski slays most any kind of terain...In powder it rips like a ski boat, leaving a big trail of fluff. On groomers to feels like a performance luxury car, comfort and thrills abound! A great choice for all but big dumps...Turny, burny, and very friendly!
                    What a ski!!
