Technology

Powder Rocker

Powder Rocker
ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility
CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound

This tip has the most elevation and longest measurement of Rocker and offers skiers a “surfy” feel with enhanced soft-snow performance. The camber region still exists to ensure edge-hold on firmer conditions.

Simply put, Powder Rocker provides unmatched flotation in deep snow.

Twin Tech Sidewalls

Twin Tech Sidewalls
This new Twin Tip specific construction process increases the durability of sidewall skis. A traditional sidewall construction produces a 90-degree angle where the top material and sidewall meet. The Twin Tech construction actually rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse.

Powder-Specific Tip Design

Powder-Specific Tip Design
The widest point of a powder tip is 7cm back from the standard contact point. The design adds stability and predictability while skiing and is less likely to hook or grab in light crusts or variable conditions.

Wood Cores

Wood Cores
At K2, we use a variety of woods in our cores to achieve the energy, rebound, and life you come to expect from a K2 ski. Fir and aspen, both solid and dense woods, are known for their inherent strength and durability. Paulownia is an eco-friendly, fast-growing renewable wood also acknowledged for its strength and lightweight characteristics. A softer wood, spruce is recognized for being forgiving and lightweight.

Comments about K2 Skis Bad Apple:

My Bad Apples are the sickest skis ever! Thanks K2 crew! My dad got them for me (thanks, dad) and as soon as I got on them I shredded the hill. Dad helped me skip a lot of school to ride these babies. I got over 60 days on them during first grade last winter at my home hill, Crested Butte, CO, and scored huge pow days. One morning after first chair with my dad I was in the overhead white room for hours. The Bad Apples send a sweet flume of pow over my helmet in the steeps. I love my Bad Apples and I'm so fired up to upgrade to 149 cms! Dad says Hattrup must have had something to do with them. Pray for snow, kids. And keep the dream alive.

Comments about K2 Skis Bad Apple:

The K2 Bad Apple is the best youth ski out on the market today. Period. If you like to do it all from the first snows in the chutes at your local area to the glaciers of Shasta in August this is the ski for you. I bought these for my son and he celebrated this ski by putting his two hundredth day in on Shasta on a 4000 foot descent through seracs and crevasses. Although not designed for harder snow, the ski can functions as a one ski quiver and helped my son make the transition from 45 to 55 degree chutes effortlessly. The ski moved his performance level up huge the first day on them. I cannot recommend this ski enough for the serious junior skiers out there!

Comments about K2 Skis Bad Apple:

I took these out to loveland on a powder day and they were great. They smash the crusty stuff and while in the terrain park are able to throw down grinds and get air without an unstable landing. I went through the trees and the skis helped me arc some turns. I would recommend these to some one else.9 out of ten
