All-Terrain Profile

Bi-Directional Taper

Bi-Directional Taper
The tip is still wider but closer in width to the tail. This allows the ski to perform exceptionally well while skiing in the forward direction but the taper enables the skier to have similar switch arc for better and more consistent switch riding.

Tip and Tail Holes

Tip and Tail Holes
Holes in the tip and tail are not only the attachments points for K2 skins, but they also fit the functional needs of a backcountry skier including the ability to build a rescue sled or construct various ski anchors. The holes are equipped with removable plugs.

SchizoFrantic Inserts

SchizoFrantic Inserts
The K2 inserts allow for super fast mounting of the new K2/Marker Griffon and Squire SchizoFrantic binding system without the need for drilling. Additionally, the increased surface area of the insert rings provides 67% more pullout strength than that of standard binding screws. The Schizo binding itself uses the tested and proven Triple Pivot Elite toe and Inter Pivot Heel with an ultra lightweight, low stand height track and cable system that enables you to mount once and adjust a full 6cm along the ski from core center for the park to traditional center for powder.

ABSorb - ABS /Urethane Hybrid Sidewalls

ABSorb - ABS /Urethane Hybrid Sidewalls
This horizontal sidewall construction sandwiches a urethane layer in between ABS for shock ABSorption, lessening the impact of harsh landings to the rider. Urethane is used under foot to maximize dampening, but ABS is used toward the tip and tail to maximize performance and edge control.

The allmountain captain...

By hammersword

from Patras, Greece

Pros

  • Good rotation
  • Graphics
  • Light
  • Playful
  • Schizo Binding
  • Twin tips

Cons

  • Not A Carving Machine

Best Uses

  • Hard Pack
  • Mild Pow ~40-50mm
  • On piste
  • Park

I 'm skiing for 6 years and I have changed many skis as K2 crossfire apache, Dynastar Outland 80 Pro, K2 Obsethed 2010 and more. This ski, the Iron Maiden, has impressed me and it's interesting! Very playful in the park as rotates easy and does the landing soft! In the piste and hard pack is very good but not in that good in icy conditions. Also it is not a carving machine if you are looking at this directions.
In powder low depths as 20-50cm is excellent, fast and floats nice. A Part machine!
The schizo is a huge avantage!

Definitely one of the best all mountain skis!

real light, K2 never ceases to amaze me. Amazing for flips and rotations, real solid on the rails. the 90mm sidewall lets you go into the powder real smooth, just a generally awesome all mountain ski. Wrestled the park for months on mt. hood, under 10 scratches. Real nice, keep it up K2!
