  • SchizoFrantic Inserts

    SchizoFrantic Inserts

The K2 inserts allow for super fast mounting of the new K2/Marker Griffon and Squire SchizoFrantic binding system without the need for drilling. Additionally, the increased surface area of the insert rings provides 67% more pullout strength than that of standard binding screws. The Schizo binding itself uses the tested and proven Triple Pivot Elite toe and Inter Pivot Heel with an ultra lightweight, low stand height track and cable system that enables you to mount once and adjust a full 6cm along the ski from core center for the park to traditional center for powder.
  • Bi-Directional Taper

    Bi-Directional Taper

The tip is still wider but closer in width to the tail. This allows the ski to perform exceptionally well while skiing in the forward direction but the taper enables the skier to have similar switch arc for better and more consistent switch riding.
  • Tip and Tail Holes

    Tip and Tail Holes

Holes in the tip and tail are not only the attachments points for K2 skins, but they also fit the functional needs of a backcountry skier including the ability to build a rescue sled or construct various ski anchors. The holes are equipped with removable plugs.
  • Twin Tip Specific Ski Shapes

    Twin Tip Specific Ski Shapes

Unlike other categories in the K2 line, our twin tips are designed to ski in both directions. The demand for products that perform increasingly well either way is now the norm. K2 has exceeded that challenge by developing unique radius and taper angles to maximize the skis’ bi-directional performance.
  • Powder-Specific Tip Design

    Powder-Specific Tip Design

The widest point of a powder tip is 7cm back from the standard contact point. The design adds stability and predictability while skiing and is less likely to hook or grab in light crusts or variable conditions.
  • Twin Tech Sidewalls

    Twin Tech Sidewalls

This new Twin Tip specific construction process increases the durability of sidewall skis. A traditional sidewall construction produces a 90-degree angle where the top material and sidewall meet. The Twin Tech construction actually rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse.
  • Plates and Rivets

    Plates and Rivets

K2 tip and tail rivets have evolved to allow the addition of a pre-cut climbing skin onto the ski for all your backcountry access needs.
  • ABSorb - ABS /Urethane Hybrid Sidewalls

ABSorb - ABS /Urethane Hybrid Sidewalls

This horizontal sidewall construction sandwiches a urethane layer in between ABS for shock ABSorption, lessening the impact of harsh landings to the rider. Urethane is used under foot to maximize dampening, but ABS is used toward the tip and tail to maximize performance and edge control.

Factory Team skis use thick, durable steel edges. It is far more resistant to cracking for a more durable, longer lasting ski.

  • Triaxial Braiding

    Triaxial Braiding

Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. While flex and torsion vary depending on the wood, Triaxially braided skis share the common traits of ease, forgiveness, responsiveness, and energy in both expert and entry level skis.

Comments about K2 Skis Kung Fujas:

To summarize: Surprisingly good on hardpack, disappointed in powder.

Ski'd in 3-4 feet of new snow in Tahoe, one of the few good days this year. Rode my powder boards in the morning, amazing and fun. Switched to these at lunch and wanted my powder boards back badly. Not a surfy feel, the rocker is not very pronounced. Fast forward a few months to one of the worst condition days I've ever ski'd-sheet ice. These were all I had in the car, so had no choice. Know what? They held edge VERY well and completely exceeded expectations on hardpack. So, I'm going to stick with them and grow to like them over time. Didn't hate them, but haven't bonded with them yet either. Graphics are killer, and no complaints about weight. These ski stiffer than I expected, which is good. Haven't had the chance to ski them in chopped crud yet, but am hoping they excel there.

Not a one ski quiver in my opinion, they didn't come close to stacking up with my well known powder skis. But, maybe a great part of a two ski quiver. Time will tell.

Comments about K2 Skis Kung Fujas:

Skied the Kung Fuja in 4ft of fresh powder at Sierra at Tahoe.
Snow weight was 2.5' of medium-dry Sierra powder on top of 1.5ft of heavy, wet Sierra Cement.

Simply put: this is no powder ski. Flotatation was only moderately better than my everyday 84mm Fisher Wateas.
The Kung Fuja is not quick, not powerful, it doesn't float, & didn't offer much of a landing platform for even 4-8ft drops: in short, I have a hard time imagining what its intended use is: maybe skiing in 6 inches of light, broken snow?

I skied Nordica Patrons in the same lengths the same day, and that ski is everything the Kung Fuja is *not*.
The Patron's extra 10mm of width underfoot made a huge difference in floatation, the extra rocker made the Patron much more nimble in the trees, plus it had far more backbone for motoring through chop & crud.

Far as I can tell, the Kung Fuja isn't a jack of any trade, much less a master.

Comments about K2 Skis Kung Fujas:

I have snowboarded for the past 8 years, started skiing last spring, never thought I would enjoy it as much, I rented a old pair of groomer skis and thought I had got the hang of the sport till there was powder, I sank, got stuck and questioned the whole sport, until I found the Kung Fujas.... Powder then became fun again! So much fun, I doubt my snowboard will ever get ridden again.. These skis truly can make a intermediate skier a great skier no matter what the snow conditions! The Fujas can rip the groomers just as eloquently as powder! Definitely would recommend these skis to anyone looking for a ski to do it all and have a great time while doing it. Thank you K2, I now see the light!

Comments about K2 Skis Kung Fujas:

Over all it's an excellent ski! I've been riding my K2 Kung Fujas for 3 years and they're still going strong. They're my main ski! It seems that a lot of people are complaining about their weight, but for their size they are about average. These skis work beautifully in moguls, as well as glades and back-country skiing. And believe it or not they're a sweet ride in the park too! They work wonderfully in the park, a lot better than people might think. It's a very playful ski, there's a lot of flex to them. The only problem I have with this ski is that they don't hold an edge as well as I would like them to. Depending on how picky you are you're going to want to really give these skis a good tuning before the season starts! Again, Just an all around wonderful ski and it would be a great idea to consider them!
