All-Terrain Profile

Progressive Sidecut

Progressive Sidecut
Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.

Powder-Specific Tip Design

Powder-Specific Tip Design
The widest point of a powder tip is 7cm back from the standard contact point. The design adds stability and predictability while skiing and is less likely to hook or grab in light crusts or variable conditions.

Tip and Tail Holes

Tip and Tail Holes
Holes in the tip and tail are not only the attachments points for K2 skins, but they also fit the functional needs of a backcountry skier including the ability to build a rescue sled or construct various ski anchors. The holes are equipped with removable plugs.

Bioflex Cores

Bioflex Cores
All K2 women’s skis use a combination of fir and spruce in a unique core known as BioFlex, a process where a dense fir core underfoot is fused with lightweight spruce at the tip and tail to reduce swing-weight. For 2012, we have developed three variations of the Bioflex core specifically tuned to a target performance:Bioflex 1 – 60% fir and 40% Spruce – Swing weight reduction with added forgivenessBioflex 2 – 70% fir and 30% Spruce – Reduced swing weight with added performanceBioflex 3 – 80% fir and 20% Spruce – Increased performance, strength, and durability

Perfect powder ski!

By lola

from Ketchum, ID

Pros

  • Lots of float
  • Stability

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Powder

This ski is the perfect powder ski! I was using the DarkSides as my pow ski, but being 5'3- 105 lbs it was just a little bit too much for me to handle. I am so glad that they created this ski for women! It floats just as good as the DarkSide but is much more manageable for the ladies. I have used this ski on many powder days and find that I can ski on it all day, even as the snow gets chopped up, and I don't get tired. I will even take it up to AK for heli-skiing as I know it will do the job! (although the Darkside are pretty nice for pure pow too!)

MissDirected More Versatile Than You Thi

    By Shannon

    from Vail, CO

    Pros

    • Ease
    • Stability
    • Versatile
    • Width

    Cons

      Best Uses

      • Crud
      • Park
      • Powder
      • Shmoo
      • Soft bumps

At 117 underfoot, the K2 MissDirected is one of the (or is it THE?) widest women's-specific skis on the market. Ladies, don't be alarmed! Width actually adds stability, and you'll be impressed with how easy this ski is, whether you have two new or it's blower over the head. In fact, the width is super-versatile for crud skiing or spring shmoo, and the powder rocker profile with a touch of camber underfoot provides an easy-turning platform for soft bumps that can also take you to the park. If you're used to riding men's skis because they offer the girth you're looking for, the MissDirected won't disappoint - it is the perfect marriage between increased surface area and the lower swing weight that women's skis are noted for. Go big. You won't want to go home.

      Trust and enjoy

      By Heli Suess

      from Redmond, WA

      Pros

      • Smooth turns in deep

      Cons

        Best Uses

I had to simply stand up and trust the ski. The day before I had fallen on an ice rink, subluxed a rib, and could not roll over in bed or lift my right arm above my head, but NO WAY would I miss a heli day. I could not afford to fall, but if I sat back my legs (at age 58) would be toast. Almost 30,000 vertical feet later (and maximal ibuprofen), in mostly good snow (some face shots), with bits of heavier wet stuff, I was still standing (and smiling!) The skis calmly handled everything they encountered, and kept me from taking any headers.

This is the best ski i have tried this season. Took them to Silverton for a 24" powder day and lead the pack. They are so playful yet aggressive when needed. Love the graphics too - couldn't stop smiling the days I have been on these ski's - THEY ROCKED MY WORLD!
