All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.
Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.
All of K2’s women’s skis use cores that feature a combination of Aspen, Paulownia, and Bamboo. BioFlex cores are comprised of strong Aspen wood underfoot, which is fused with lightweight Paulownia in the tip and tail using a specific interlocking pattern that reduces swing-weight and provides a smooth-flexing ski. For 2013/14, K2 continues to apply this technology through one of the following three variations of BioFlex, each specifically tuned to target different performance goals:
Bioflex 3 – 80% Aspen/20% Paulownia – Increased performance, strength, and durability
Bioflex 2 – 70% Aspen/30% Paulownia – reduced swing-weight with added performance
Bioflex 1 – 60% Aspen/40% Paulownia – Added forgiveness with the lightest swing-weight
Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and titanal above and below the core. Metal Laminates provide damp, accurate, unshakable performance, ideal for expert and advanced level skiers.
Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions. The construction combines the accuracy, power, and performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.
Since snow collecting on the ski can add pounds to a climb, our SnoPhobic tops keep you light with a new snow-repellent topsheet. The running surface along the bottom of a ski is hydrophobic by design, so we’ve developed a thinner version of the same material to use on the BackSide model-specific topsheets.
The new freeride tip and tail grommets are a clean, simple design that no longer requires a plug. The durable rubber coating disguises a slit designed to accommodate both the Z clip for our skin attachments, and the components to build a rescue sled.
The all-new K2/Marker women’s-specific ERC (Energy Response Contact) binding system is our widest ski binding system, with a 54% wider attachment. Thanks to zinc feet that extend toward the edges of the ski, the ERC system delivers greater precision and control on the wider-waisted Super skis. In addition to being wider, the binding stand height has been reduced by 12%, adding almost 10% in weight savings.
