Catch-Free Profile

Cap Construction

Cap Construction
Durable and lightweight “cap” skis are built by a sophisticated molding process that envelopes the core and internal materials with the top layer of the ski. Used throughout our ski line, cap constructions can be assembled with a variety of different cores. These variations, such as glass and/or metal materials, are the determining factors of the skis’ performance.

Mod Technology

Mod Technology
High-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected.

Comments about K2 Skis SuperSmooth 72:

I just started skiing last year and decided I didn't want to rent this year. After reading a lot about these being great beginner skis, I found last year's model at my local shop on sale and bought them. I have been out on them about 5 times so far this season and I am extremely satisfied. They feel MUCH better than the rentals I used last season, and I just love them. I am building my confidence and feel more capable every time I hit the slopes. They are so stable and easy to turn, for a beginner ski, you can't go wrong with the Supersmooth. My only complaint is the color scheme on last years is pretty drab compared to all the great colors and designs I see on other K2 products. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to move out of rentals and get started in the sport, I can't say enough how happy I am with this purchase.
