What’s your ideal backcountry day? Tough to say; different things seem ideal for the different days. Not getting rained on is pretty cool. Best backcountry or sidecountry day of the last year? Orbit of Mount Baker in Washington's North Cascades. After just having returned from high profile trips in the Alps I spend 5 days with guiding friend Ben Haskell and two superb clients on this remote high alpine Orbit and realized again how awesome Wilderness Ski .
What was your first backcountry trip? It was in Switzerland in preparation for my first guides course that I was completely unprepared for…. Best advice for new backcountry skiers? Choose your ski partners well and take some courses that are application based. Best backcountry lesson learned last year? Did not learn a XXXXX thing last year. I never go skiing without my ______ Skis…. Just kidding. I never go backcountry skiing without my map, compass and alitmeter. Ski trip you most want to do? I would love to ski off an 8000 meter peak. Best thing about rockered skis? Easy initiation, easier trailbreaking in deep snow.
