What have you been up to this offseason? I have been painting a lot of houses so that I can stack some chips for the upcoming school semester at CU-Boulder. Besides that, hitting up the beach and working out so I can stay on point for the upcoming season. When you were coming up, what skiers inspired you? Definitely the originators of style like Dave Crichton, Pep Fujas, Tanner Hall, Liam Downey and Mickael Deschenaux as well as those who started the creative video segments like Shane, the Three Phils and JP Auclair.
Whose skiing are you stoked on today and why? The veterans like Hornbeck, Downey and Delorme who always stay true to keeping skiing smooth, those who ski in order to keep the vision of ski flicks going such as Ahmet Dadali, Will Wesson and Andy Perry, and the younger kids who are going to run the ski scene within the next 3 years including Parker White, Chris Logan, Nick Martini, Cam Riley, Clayton Vila, Dale Talkington and Sean Jordan. What was your best day on snow last season? Every day that I got a shot while filming with Stept Productions and Meathead Films. What is the craziest thing you experienced last season? Going to Home Depot in Washington D.C. and seeing that every type of shovel was sold out due to a 2 and half foot snowstorm. What skiing related accomplishment are you most proud of? Filming a movie segment in my hometown, which I accomplished this past season. Check it out in Meathead Films new movie “Work It Out” Tell us one thing that no-one knows about you. I can speak Somali. Shout out to all my Somali girls in L-A! Does training ever end? When will you start really getting in ski shape and what is your training routine? I feel that the summer time is the perfect time to stay in shape for skiing while simultaneously resting your body so that you can come back the following winter strong. My training routine consists of a running program intertwined with some self-body weight work. For all you kids out there, you don’t have to take steroids or lift weights to look good for the ladies, just do push ups, sit ups and chin ups! Real talk. What are your plans for the 2010-11 season? My plans are to film a bunch of creative segments for both Meathead Films and Stept Productions so I can show people out there that there’s more to skiing than X-games and sponsors. Who are your other sponsors? Ski The East, Bern Unltd. and TJ Max
