Technology

TRIAX Carbon Technology

TRIAX Carbon Technology
Developed exclusively by K2, Triax Technology is the controlled process of winding carbon fibers at a 60 degree angle around the outside of the shaft. The external TRIAX fibers reinforce and control the uni-directional fibers of the pole, to create a more durable/Stiff shaft. This allows poles built with Triax Technology to feature a thinner (14mm) shaft that is stiffer and lighter then any pole we have ever produced.

Aluminum

Aluminum
The High-strength 7075 and 6061 aircraft aluminum creates a seamless tubing shaft for a durable alternative to our composite shafts.

Bubble Inclinometer
Quick slope measurement is in the palm of your hand with Bubble Inclinometer equipped LockJaw Poles.

LockJaw2 Clamp

LockJaw2 Clamp
Revolutionary over-center cam design provides effortless length adjustments, while delivering greater clamping power and easier release than similar clamps.

Comments about K2 Skis LockJaw Carbon/Alu:

You don't know you need adjustable poles until you have them! For all mountain skiing as well as backcountry use, these are the bomb. Traditionally, adjustable poles were heavy and sluggish. These are lightweight and the women's specific grip is a nice bonus.

Comments about K2 Skis LockJaw Carbon/Alu:

Ive never had an adjustable pole before this, and now I cant imagine not! They are perfect for the backcountry, quick and easy to adjust for the steepness of slope you are ascending or descending. The carbon/aluminum combination makes them lightweight and durable. The extended grip makes them comfortable to hold.

Comments about K2 Skis LockJaw Carbon/Alu:

Love, love, love the low grips to make hiking uphill and sidehilling easier. Very smart. These poles are lightweight and easily adjustable. I haven't experiences any slip of the lockjaw, so I am pleased there. Powder baskets can be cumbersome when using these poles on hardpack, but love them for touring.

This pole is so versatile, light and pretty. I can't believe how light the pole is but also has a great swing weight for alpine skiing. It is easy to adjust the length on the go and the clamp is easy to use. The Inclinometer is an awesome feature for backcountry travelers. I really love that K2 is making this equipment designed specifically for women.

Stylish, lightweight, durable, comfortable grip, great swing weight, versatile, love the adjustabliity too! I'm not a backcountry babe, but find the adjustablility of pole length to be a great asset even within the ski area boundaries. My only mini complaint is that I'd like a smaller basket option included with the powder baskets. Nit-picky ol' me...

Comments about K2 Skis LockJaw Carbon/Alu:

As a ski instructor, I love having poles that are adjustable. If I'm carving turns, I prefer slightly shorter poles. If I hit bumps, I go slightly longer. And if I'm headed into powder, I have a 3rd and longer length. It's so easy to adjust these, I can adjust them on the fly - makes for a great day with just the right pole length for every run. And these poles are light, light, light with a great swing weight. These are great poles for advanced to expert women skiers - both in bound and backcountry. What would make them incredible poles is if they came with two sets of baskets: a pair of smaller baskets to go with the included powder baskets.

Comments about K2 Skis LockJaw Carbon/Alu:

Pro: These poles are high quality and well-balanced. The combination of carbon and aluminum in their construction makes them solid but still relatively light. The strap design provides a secure fit and the grip is ergonomic and comfortable. The poles are great for backcountry touring and skiing: they telescope easily and the dense foam extends below the grip, which is convenient when traversing and side-hilling. These poles also include a handy, integrated inclinometer.

Con: These poles only come with a powder basket. A smaller basket would make them more versatile and would be better for hard pack or packed powder conditions.
