Technology

Energy Interlock

Energy Interlock
A rivet-free technology that locks the cuff and shell in both the forward and aft direction. This fundamental technology gives the boots life and power ideal for all-mountain and freeride skiing where you encounter a wide variety of conditions and terrain. When the boot flexes forward, the Interlock stretches, creating a buildup of energy. This not only puts lower stresses on the boot material but also produces a smoother, more efficient load transfer, delivering a more natural flex and dynamic performance in all conditions.

PowerFuse SpYne

PowerFuse SpYne
A rear co-injected “Y” shaped design that adds strength and power to the Energy Interlock, the PowerFuse SpYne maximizes fore/aft flex efficiency and lateral stiffness for sustained performance and responsiveness in all terrain. Because of the SpYne, we are able to optimize materials in the cuff and shell, eliminating excessive vibrations in rough terrain.

PrecisionFit INTUITION

PrecisionFit INTUITION
Our premium, heat-moldable liner, the PrecisionFit INTUITION®, is molded/lasted to deliver a precise “out-of-the-box” fit, minimize “dead spots,” and optimize power transfer between the liner and shell. Heat-Moldable Asymmetric Tongues provide the necessary comfort and performance needed to reduce shin bang and ensure smooth, precise flex initiation. The Power Wedge and Power Collar offer varied forward lean and the upper cuff support you demand for charging hard.

Replaceable Outsoles

Replaceable Outsoles
Dual-injected Thermo Plastic Rubber (TPR) with Thermo Plastic Urethane (TPU) increases the life of your boots and provides secure footing whether walking on rock, ice, or stairs.

Padded Mid-Grip

Padded Mid-Grip
Duel Injected Thermo Plastic Rubber (TPR) for added grip and traction while walking on rocks or riding on snowmobiles.

Power Strap

Power Strap
Extra wide, strong, and powerful cam-lock PowerClinch strap featured on the SpYne 130. Durable Velcro Powerstraps in varying widths for support and strength on all other models.

Dual Cuff Alignment

Dual Cuff Alignment
Adjust +/- 2.2 degrees on medial and lateral sides for a total range of 4.4 degrees. This enables adjustment to the lower leg angle for maximum comfort and performance.

Alloy Buckles

Alloy Buckles
6060 T6 Extruded Hardened Aluminum Alloy built with a minimalist lightweight design.

Comments about K2 Skis SpYne 130/130 LV:

Fit sold me. K2 did some great research on the shape of the human foot, pre-punching all the common problem areas. The boot skis great, does get stiff when it gets real cold -15F and can be hard to get off but stayed fairly warm.
Have lost both buckel and the catch. My right boot plastic has ripped and will be replaced by K2 at the end of the season. Also the liner stiching is unraveling in places.

Comments about K2 Skis SpYne 130/130 LV:

This boot is awesome, I only use it for lift service skiing and I definitely can't complain. It's always there when I need it without being ridiculously stiff. I have the LV and had to do a bit of work, now it's the best fitting boot I've ever had. The only trouble I've had is that the soles are not as grippy as they claim to be, but they're not made for walking.

Comments about K2 Skis SpYne 130/130 LV:

A boot that was made for freeskiers. This is not a boot inspired by racers. The boot is tailored to fit the need of any hard charging freeskier. If you like to ski fast while having the comfort of a stiff boot to keep you in place this is the boot you need. What's so special about it, is that it works well while you're even hiking in the backcountry, and the pieces don't freeze up and become too stiff during those cold days like race inspired boots. The boot functions for those that ski big mountain and it's the only one in the market like it.

Comments about K2 Skis SpYne 130/130 LV:

I teach lots of lessons on firm snow and I am very used to the custom fit of "plug" race boots that have to be ground and shaped to your foot. The LV shell is excellent for my foot and has tremendous power laterally. The liners are a fantastic fit once they have been molded.

The biggest difference from my old 130 boots is the flex pattern. This boot has a progressive forward flex and never hits that "wall" like riveted boots. The cuff alignment was super easy and takes only minutes.

The bottom line: When teaching for 4-6 hours straight this boot stays with you without the pain of a plug. Lay the skis over and there's PLENTY of power. A great boot for hard charging all over the mountain!

Comments about K2 Skis SpYne 130/130 LV:

Oh my good, finally the boot for narrow feet experts that no longer want to suffer in racing boots. As a ski instructor, we need to be able to ski all day, from snow plow lesson to hard carving ones. This boot does it all and more. As mentioned the LV version I have is narrow and bu far it is not a defect but a great benefit. Edge to edge is fantastic and the fit is superb once the liner has been heated. The liner just becomes better and the toe box more confortable, and potentially the most confortable I have had in years. Buy rapidly because K2 will sell this one out so rapidly
