Technology

Synchro Interlock

Synchro Interlock
Built on the Energy Interlock design platform, the Synchro Interlock enables the simultaneous release of both an internal wedge and the Interlock. When released, the Synchro Interlock delivers greater fore and aft range of motion for more efficient touring. Engaging the wedge and Interlock functionally creates an all-mountain boot, with 100% of the flex index and uncompromised downhill performance. This user-friendly design can be locked or released with the flick of a ski pole for on-the-go efficiency.

Replaceable DIN Compatible Outsoles

Replaceable DIN Compatible Outsoles
Thanks to our Integrated Tech Fittings, our replaceable outsoles are all DIN-compatible, so you no longer have to switch outsoles to accommodate your various binding setups.

PowerBuckle

PowerBuckle
Designed exclusively for our freeride collection, the K2 PowerBuckle combines the lightweight efficiency of an extra-wide powerstrap with the performance, strength, and reliability of a traditional buckle. What makes it unique is the ability to release the power strap for walking by disconnecting the buckle from it's base without having the reset the velcro each time. The versatility of the design enables greater range of motion than a normal buckle, resulting in more efficient touring and simultaneously transforming your three-buckle touring boot into a four-buckle, hard-charging freeride boot.

Integrated Tech Fittings

Integrated Tech Fittings
Tech fittings are fully integrated into the shell injection, instead of just the outsole pods. This design guarantees greater strength, improved torsional stiffness, durability, and makes our outsoles compatible with both DIN-alpine and Tech bindings.

PrecisionFit Tour INTUITION

PrecisionFit Tour INTUITION
Our PrecisionFit Tour INTUITION® liner has the same high performance molded/lasted design features that give our all-mountain PrecisionFit INTUITION® liner superior fit and ski performance, with the addition of Tour Flex Notches. These notches are strategically placed at the main hinge points, allowing the liner to flex naturally with the ankle and shell when in walk mode, improving range of motion and touring efficiency.

Alloy Buckles

Alloy Buckles
6060 T6 Extruded Hardened Aluminum Alloy built with a minimalist lightweight design.

Dual Cuff Alignment

Dual Cuff Alignment
Adjust +/- 2.2 degrees on medial and lateral sides for a total range of 4.4 degrees. This enables adjustment to the lower leg angle for maximum comfort and performance.

PowerFuse SpYne

PowerFuse SpYne
A rear co-injected “Y” shaped design that adds strength and power to the Energy Interlock, the PowerFuse SpYne maximizes fore/aft flex efficiency and lateral stiffness for sustained performance and responsiveness in all terrain. Because of the SpYne, we are able to optimize materials in the cuff and shell, eliminating excessive vibrations in rough terrain.

Padded Mid-Grip

Padded Mid-Grip
Duel Injected Thermo Plastic Rubber (TPR) for added grip and traction while walking on rocks or riding on snowmobiles.

Comments about K2 Skis Pinnacle 130/130 LV:

I am a ski instructor and I ski over 100 days a year these boots will not last that, I like the fit of the boot i got them fitted professionally and they fit my feet best , the walkmode is awesome but i think it makes the boots flex out to much while skiing and sometimes the walk mode slips into the "on" position which has almost had me head over heels a number of times . i like the dynafit pieces on the boots (awesome) ,i like the adjustable top buckle/strap but again sometimes it slips and falls off , the liners in the boots are awesome love the tie up , some things about the boot that really disappoint me are the quality in the shell , buckles , ankle lock piece? The shell has a massive crack which i am in the process of claiming warranty. they cracked after about a month of use . also ive lost a couple buckles which is kinda annoying and 20$ heel/ankle lock piece which the rep made me pay for after only riding the boots for 2 weeks ! NOT happy about that . another thing I am not really happy about is how soft they are for a 130 flex boot really really soft. when the boots are working properly I like them but all the problems i have had with them have really turned me off K2 boots and i will probably not get another pair ! Not for a die hard skier who gets lots of days , good for mediocre skier who goes on vacations .

Comments about K2 Skis Pinnacle 130/130 LV:

Just a heads up; I have skied these boots for 35 days as of today. I have had a couple of issues with them, other than being almost impossible to get them on or off. If they are lower than room temp, forget it.
They fit very well, and tour and ski very well in both alpine touring bindings and tech bindings.
They have broken down on me twice in just 35 days of use.
The first break down was the bolt holding the cuff to the boot threading itself out and being lost on the mountain.
The second was the walk mode snapping while in ski mode. I'm not sure exactly when or how, but the cast aluminium piece that engages the ski mode broke. This is going to take 3 days for parts to arrive and the repair to take place. K2 has been helpful in rectifying this, but I wish it didn't happen.
In all, great boots, but just be careful if you live far from a K2 Dealer.
Also, I met one other guy with the same boots who snapped the cuff off his boot while touring. Also warranteed

Comments about K2 Skis Pinnacle 130/130 LV:

This is more of a thank you letter than a review. As a former racer, I felt as though I was constantly tweaking my boots to get the exact flex and power that I wanted. Usually this included taking out the rivets and adding a booster strap. But lo and behold, K2 has already done the work for me! Now, as a backcountry skier, I can enjoy the hike up in comfort with the incredibly simple walk/hike mode. Then quickly transition to shred mode without adjusting the strap while freezing on top of the mountain. And speaking of cold, the opening days of the season here in MT have been sub-zero, and I have had no need to complain about cold feet.

So K2, thank you for continuing to progress this amazing sport and way of life. This is truly a great product that I will rep to the fullest.

Comments about K2 Skis Pinnacle 130/130 LV:

Congratulations K2!! You really hit the nail on the head with this boot. This is a great skiing boot. I bought my Pinnacle 130 LV at Colorado Ski and Golf in Lone Tree, Colorado. After a couple of days I went up to Breckenridge. I can attest that these boots are great in all kinds of snow conditions. What is most impressive is their ability to transfer the energy and have the skis do what you want them to do instantly. The Intuition liner works well and are warm. There are no shin "bites", a problem that I have had with a number of other boots on the market. The walking mode works well although I did not try it hiking.
This is a time when all American skiers should be buying American designed products from American companies. K2 has proven time and again that their products are as good and even better than their European counterparts.
I hope you are very successful with you new ski boot line.
I am definitely happy I bought my K2 Pinnacle 130 LV.

I skied this boot first at Product intro last winter then again at the SKI Mag Boot Test in April. The prototype there had difficulties with the upper strap and a pressure point on the little toe. I had the chance to ski the finished product in September in So America. They totally dialed it in! This boot is flawless! There has never been a first year boot that was done so well.
