All Terrain Rocker
ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility
CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound
All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.
Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.

Progressive Sidecut
Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance. -
Tip and Tail Holes
Holes in the tip and tail are not only the attachments points for K2 skins, but they also fit the functional needs of a backcountry skier including the ability to build a rescue sled or construct various ski anchors. The holes are equipped with removable plugs. -

I'm a 50% resort 50% back country skier. Almost 100% of my days are in the Tetons. I have this ski mounted with a 22 Designs AXL tele binding and I'm loving the setup. I went from a 90mm waist Karhu Jak with cable bindings to this setup and I feel like a new skier. At the resort, after the powder has all been skied up, this ski aggressively busts through the chop and makes it feel like I'm still skiing fresh snow. In the back country in bottomless pow this ski floats like a dream. I can ski it fast with much more confidence than my old setup. The finish on the ski is beautiful and holds up well and after 1 full season it's hard to find a scratch. Even the sides still look perfect. I'd highly recommend this ski.
Aawsome ski in powder. It also rips black pists in high speeds due to titanal inserts. If you intend to use the ski for touring I will recommend to use Dynafit FT Stradic, Marker Duke are too heavy. Th e b est alround there is on the marked. I have used the ski for many years and I love them. Thank you K2 for this fantastic ski! Stay a way from bigger powder skis - this big enough and are the best overall ski there is!!

I wasn't thrilled with the idea on buying an 108 waist ski for versatility but focusing on powder. The result is that I can turn on crust, on ice groomed slopes but all that need one prerequisite. Speed. This ski needs speed to react and show for what it is made. In powder though I can smile during my ride but not as I smiled when I compared them with a Volkl gotama. It's a stiff, more heavy than the other cousins but a fat ski that you can use it and be confident with.

I just had the first day out on my new Sidestash. I am am telemark skier, 5'11 and ca. 160 lbs., and mostly ski off-piste and backcountry.
I was looking for something to replace my 2 year old Coomback 181. It needed to be a bit wider, a bit stiffer and a bit longer. Since buying the Coomba, while being an awesome ski for all kinds of applications, it grew a bit short for me and I wanted something more stable at high speeds.
I chose the 188cm length and have it mounted with NTN bindings. The ski skis absolutely great in most snow from powder, to crud, to groomers and does it all with ease and lots of confidence.
Just what I was looking for. Amazing!!!
For size recommendations, keep in minde that it received a longer rocker shovel this year and thus skis a bit shorter. I am happy to have chosen the longer version (compared to the Commback in 181) since it gives me the tracking stability at speed and in chopped snow while the rocker still allows for quick turning when it gets tricky, like in narrow chutes or in the trees.
Other considerations were: Völkl Gotama in 186, Kästle BMX 108 in 188, Dynastar LPR 105 in 184 and Liberty Helix in 182.
In the end I chose the Sidestash since the Kästle was purely too expensive, the Dynastar too stiff, the Liberty too soft and the Gotama had too much rocker.
Hope this helps. Enjoy!

If you live in the West, this is your new everyday ski for all the right reasons: front rocker only, flat tail, traditional camber for bounce in the pow, 108 waist still lets you sink some, square sidewalls for sustained grip and two sheets of metal means nothing knocks it off course. [*] For a traditional stance-and-pressure skier, this might be the best crud ski ever made. Full disclosure: I asked for, and received, the Sidestash because after analyzing the 2010 market it had everything I was looking for. It delivered in spades. The only time it came up short was on super-deep uncut pow in snowbird in April when I could have used another cm or two underfoot, but that's what the Pon2oon is for.

I purchased these skis early January 2011. I used them at Timberline, Mt.Hood Oregon. At Timberline you get all conditions. High altitude wind blown ice, corn, ice cap powder, fluff, Deep Powder, crud, and good groomed. I demo a lot of skis, I have skied Coomback, Hellbent, S7, Prophets, and Gotama.
I did not want to write a review until I skied all conditions. Mostly so that I could write what I did Not like about these skis. I have challenged these skis to everything I could throw at them, and I just keep smiling. These skis are very aggresive, I find myself diving into terain that suprises even me. They hold on ice. Easy to turn in steeps, confident in crud and a bliss in powder. I have nothing negative to say about these skis. I have talk to 3 other people that I seen with the Sidestash and they have only good things to say. The K2 skins are the best ever. I could not believe the steeps I was climbing with these skins, did not slip once.
It is now Mid April, I just got done skiing the best day of my life. 36 inches of 22 degree Champaign Powder, Back Country 7 miles from top to bottom. I could not stop laughing. These skis were like a dream.

Tired of skiing my beloved Mantras I picked up a pair of SideStashes during Christmas week and have only been smiling since. With 66 days on them so far this season I have to rate this as the top ski I have owned. I knew it would be an awesome powder ski but these puppies hold a tight line in the groomed and are rock solid at speed. They are a solid ski for patrol work when you need to depend on your equipment along with just plain infusing me with a lot of postiive energy that you always hope for when you buy a new pair of boards. I use them 1/3 of the time for AT and have no concerns over the weight as they are so much lighter than skis I have had in previous years. It's been many years since I rode on K2's but I am definately a Happy Camper this season!!
