RoX Technology
Core: Strength and Structure
A K2 ski is designed with a primary core and structural layers that determines the flex.
MOD: Suspension
A secondary core that essentially acts as a suspension system quieting the ride of the ski but does not affect the overall flex of the ski.
Carbon Web: Increased Edge Hold
A raised X-Shaped carbon support is laid on top of the MOD furthest from the core to increase the torsional rigidity for greater edge hold and grip.
Speed Rocker: Effortless Initiation and Accuracy
Without Rocker, a ski with this much torsional rigidity strength would be nearly impossible to initiate into a turn. -
Speed Rocker
ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility
CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound
This slightly elevated tip and increased tip length provides effortless initiation and flawless transitions, while camber along the rest of the running surface delivers precision, power, and edge-hold.
Simply put, Speed Rocker offers high performance precision and edge hold on firm snow.

Carbon Web
Carbon Web pushes the balance between weight and strength gaining downhill performance without adding additional mass. Located in the tail and the forebody of the skim the Carbon Web increases edge grip when you need it most in the backcountry. -
Mod Technology
High-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected. -
Mod Monic
A Focused Mass-DampenerThe Monic is a solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with the Mod structure to focus mass-dampening at a targeted location.

The Bolt is a fantastic ski for groomers or hard packed. Super easy into the turn and solid as a rock through the arc. The light swing weight makes the ski lightning quick and the slight rocker tip makes the ski very predictable. No hooking just fast, fun and energetic skiing. The 72 mm waist makes the ski effortless to tip onto an extreme edge angle. Too much fun!!!
I am an APA for K2 and this is the best hard snow ski that I have ever skied.
Pros
- Fast

- Great Edge Grip
- Stable
- Versatile

FUN FAST STABLE This ski is what I have been looking for. With an 18m turn radius these skis are very good cruzing on the slopes. Not so siff that you have to work to make them turn but the more you give the more responce you get:)
I represent K2 at our mountain and am very glad to be on this equipment.
Pros
- Great Edge Grip
- Torsonially Stiff
- Very Fast Precise
Cons
- Not For 1st Timers
Best Uses
- Cruising
- Fast groomers
- Going fast
I demo'd this ski in Switzerland on 12-22-12. I skied the 179cm which for my 5'9" 170 pounds may have been just a bit long for me as ski felt very stiff. Although on a big mountain the length was necessary for the long steep cruisers. Back in the states (east coast skier,)I would like to try to 172cm ski.
This ski was extremely fast and really carved and had great edge grip. I had fun ripping the groomers of Verbier. I believe I would have given 5 star review if I could have skied the 172cm.
One of the best skis I have ever skied on. I expected a pretty good hi speed ride but was surprise how well it could do short turns.
Pros
- No Upper Limit
- Perfect Edge Hold
Cons
Best Uses
I skied the aptly named Bolts early season on limited terrain in Colorado. All I could say was WOW! The Bolts are fast and for a skier with precise technique a perfect match; they sliced from high speed turn to high speed turn without any hint that wouldn't or couldn't hold. I kept searching for an upper limit and as I approached boot-out the skis just seemed to tighten their grip on the snow. Not since the Merlin VI's (about 10 years ago) have I felt as secure and rock steady at speed.
Unfortunately early season conditions didn't provide bumps or fluff so I cannot comment on the Bolt's ability to transition through the all mountain environment. But based on the high end performance on groomed terrain I wouldn't hesitate to click in and ski anywhere - truly a ski that will reward those who do.
Pros
- Edge grip
- Quickness
- Rebound
Cons
Best Uses
- Ripping The Frontside
I have tested this ski over the past five days at Breckenridge (Nov 2012). This ski is GREAT on frontside groomers and rewards precise movements in carved turns. The more pressure and energy you give this ski the more you get back in edge hold and rebound. With speed rocker and 72 cm under foot, the turn initiation is fast and the edge change is lightning quick! This is a race car, if you can drive it, you'll love it!
I have been skiing on K2 skis for the past 5 seasons and represent the company at my local ski area. So, I have a fair degree of history with which to compare this ski. That being said, this is the BEST hard snow stick I have skied in years!
one of the best skis I ever tried. you'll never get something better for your money !
A Formula 1 race car of a ski. Speed Rocker butters you into turns then the edges take over and you're on rails. Energy and rebound that won't quit. For those days when the snow gods have taken a break. Pair them up with a solid boot and go peel the skin off yer face.
