Speed Rocker
ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility
CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound
This slightly elevated tip and increased tip length provides effortless initiation and flawless transitions, while camber along the rest of the running surface delivers precision, power, and edge-hold.
Simply put, Speed Rocker offers high performance precision and edge hold on firm snow. -
Mod Technology
High-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected. -
Triaxial Braiding
Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. While flex and torsion vary depending on the wood, Triaxially braided skis share the common traits of ease, forgiveness, responsiveness, and energy in both expert and entry level skis. -
Hybritech Sidewalls
Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions. The construction combines the accuracy and power performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction. -
M3 Plate
New for 2011/12 is a completely redesigned M3 plate that is lower, lighter and wider for a more effective transfer of power from the boot to the ski for better control and confidence. -
Integrated Hub Technology
Titanal hubs are imbedded into the core of the ski for the most direct transmission of power. The system hubs are functionally wider with a 50mm footprint, which decreases the distance between the binding and the edge of the ski for added performance. -
Mod Monic
A Focused Mass-DampenerThe Monic is a solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with the Mod structure to focus mass-dampening at a targeted location. -
Metal Laminate
Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, metal-laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal-laminates provide dampened, accurate, unshakable performance ideal for expert-level skiers.

Comments about K2 Skis Charger:
The Chargers are great, I am about 5'10" and ski the 160 and they are perfect. Great for carving and really kicks you into the transition to the next turn when you release. Great for really leaning into so to speak.
Only negative is the toe caps, they don't enjoy much abuse.

Comments about K2 Skis Charger:
After trusty old voelkls got bent in a mishap have tried a couple dozen skis in all categories, some very nice skis. Then recently randomly demo'd the K2 charger, wow the best! A really fun fast nimble ski in all kinds of conditions, stable and solid at speed. Had to buy them, gotta like those little tip guards!

Comments about K2 Skis Charger:
Demo'd thesse in Big Bear, CA. Easter Skiing and the snow was hard packed in the morning and sugar in the afternoon. The Charger tackled both conditions with Ease. Haven't ski'd with this amount of confidence since the Apache Radier.

Comments about K2 Skis Charger:
This is the best ski I've tried so far. It's great for long and short turns, it's stable in high speeds. The only cons are the tip plates. I know the ski is not for jumping but sometimes you just can't resist. Because of the landing shock the front plate was bending out all the time and finally broke off. It's not a big problem but I would recommend screwing the plates all the way threw so they're connected both at the bottom and the top of the ski.

Comments about K2 Skis Charger:
As an ex racer, I always liked slalom skis. The Charger feels like a slalom race ski that can be used for the whole mountain. I spend most my time on groomed always trying to perfect my turns but I've been in knee deep with no problems.
Just hope they change the color.

Comments about K2 Skis Charger:
I am 47 and decided to switch from Atomic SL to something more flexible and universal, less athlethic but still dynamic. I tested several ALL MOUNTAIN group skis (like Fischer progressor, ELAN AMPHIBIO, VOELKL Tigershark) but it was K2 Charger which amazed me and - honestly - I got hooked immediately. So I bought a pair (167 cm) and rode them both in soft and frozen condition with the same joy. They are just perfect - easy to turn, does not matter if it is short or long turn, stable, dynamic in response, well reacting in any conditions. It is a pity that that winter here just has just finished!

Comments about K2 Skis Charger:
I demoed these skis this season as I handed my dear Crossfire to my son. But the charger surpassed my expectations. Extremly responsive, great handling, lot of power. A joy to ride with. One of the best, if not the best ski, I tried in the last 20 years.
If I had to say something negative would be about extreme quick truns in deep moguls. I wish they had something in between 160 and 167. I tried the 167 (my crossfire were 164) and thought I could handle quicker turns in moguls if I had a few centimers less than 167, but 160 seems too small for me. These skis are near perfect for all mountain terrain.

Comments about K2 Skis Charger:
I knew these skis would be great on groomed runs and bumps but was really surprised to see how well they handled powder. Just got back from Utah and they handled 2 feet in off piste bowls without any issues. Truly a great all around ski and tons of fun.
