Technology

All-terrain-rocker
ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility
CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound

All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.
All-Terrain Profile
Wood-core
K2 uses a variety of wood cores for energy, rebound, and a liveliness only found in wood core skis. Our wood cores consist of a blend of different species of wood based on the desired flex and target performance of the ski.
Metal-laminate
Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and titanal above and below the core. Metal Laminates provide damp, accurate, unshakable performance, ideal for expert and advanced level skiers.
K2-marker-mxc-system
The all-new K2/Marker MXC binding system is our widest ski binding system, with a 54% wider attachment than our previous MX system. The system incorporates zinc feet that extend toward the ski edge for the most accurate power transfer, resulting in improved edge hold and control on wider-waisted skis. The binding stand height has also been reduced by 12%, resulting in a 10% weight savings.
At-rox-technology
Core: Strength and Structure
A K2 ski is designed with a primary core and structural layers that determine the flex along the entire length of the ski.

MOD: Suspension
Added on top of the ski’s primary core is a secondary core called the MOD structure, which essentially acts independently as a suspension system, quieting the ride of the ski. The key is that the MOD structure does not change the overall flex of the ski.

Carbon Web: Increased Edge Hold
A raised X-shaped pattern has been added to specific regions of the MOD structure to support a Carbon Web. This X-shaped carbon support is furthest from the core to increase torsional rigidity, for greater edge-hold and grip. It works independently of the primary core so the overall longitudinal flex is unchanged.

Speed Rocker: Effortless Initiation and Accuracy
The addition of Speed Rocker or All-Terrain Rocker makes turns effortless with greater accuracy and edge hold.
Hybritech-sidewall
Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions. The construction combines the accuracy, power, and performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
Mod-technology
High-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected.
Progressive-sidecut
Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.

I have owned a lot of skis over the years. A friend recommended I try them and I did. They turn on a dime. I feel in complete control and although I am a excellent skier my speed and control have improved a great deal with these skis. Have not yet tried them in deep powder but front side skiing they are great.

These were the best skis I ever tried in 40 years. Not sure what makes them so versatile. Could have something to do with the magical trio of fronside rocker, flat back and a great camber underfoot. Loved them!!

Raced on these this week end, Simply defined as a formula one tank,,, it can do it all and more. Snappy and lively, stable and damped, short and long turns, ice and powder... K2 has done it all with this one. Not as lively as my Charger, but as stable as my colleagues Bolt. The one ski to get if you buy only a pair, but also the one to get if you get many ... That much fun and more

Love the variety of turn shapes -- GS to SL -- very quick and PLAYFUL...Easy turn initiation and playful pop out of turns. Goes great in everything I've challenged it on ice, hard pack, boot-top pow, and crud...Can't wait to see how they float turns in pow. Ski it all day without sore knees or tight thighs the next day!

I have all the frontside (on piste) skis, the Bolt, Charger and now Rictor. The Rictor is EXTREMELY quick edge to edge with a great turning radius. I was fortunate to get on them in 8-12" of new snow at Breck, and this ski makes you feel like a hero with great floatation and control. The Rictor carves great arcs with incredible edge hold on firm snow , floats well in moderate pow, and plows through moguls and crud like a champ. Truly a "one-ski quiver" for all-mountain skiing!

Comments about K2 Skis AMP Rictor 82XTI:

This does it all. Ice and cushed snow, some powder, and moguls. The one and only ski for 95% of East ski conditions, and it even can float somwhat on those great and rare powder days. The edging of this things is incredible and on can even challenge the hold of a K2 Bolt a higher speed but still do super short turns on these just like my K2 Charger. A simple does it all ski with the stability of a tank and edge capability of a ceramic knife. Tons of fun here for sure

Comments about K2 Skis AMP Rictor 82XTI:

Demo'd these in Tahoe, March 2013. Would have bought them on the spot to replace my Eastern skis if I had had a way to get them home. They really held on hard pack and ice. On the top of the list for my next pair of skis. The All Terrain Rocker smooths things out in all conditions. I also own a pair of Coombacks.
