        Comments about K2 Skis Pontoon:

Went Powder skiing on Vail Pass. The Vail Powder Guides hooked me up with a pair of these skis. I've never been a pair of skis this big before but they insisted. I've been skiing for 36 years. The man is the man, but the ski certainly helps the man ride better. Loved them. Picking up a pair next season.

        Comments about K2 Skis Pontoon:

I have the Pontoons in 189 and I am 5'8". These skis are the absolute best I have skied when it comes to skiing powder. They can turn quickly in the trees or you can carve huge turns down bowls of powder. I have used them to ski everything from steep narrow couloirs to wide open faces and they easily handle it all. I love these skis.

I always told my son that gear doesn't matter, it will never make you a better skier.

            I turned out, I lied.

I have been stationed in Switzerland for the last two years and really got into off-piste skiing after watching Shane in the movie Steep, while I was stationed in Iraq.

I took the Pontoons to ski a little early season snow in Zermatt and went faster and more in control than I have ever been in the last 2 years of skiing off-piste.

            THESE SKIS RIP!!!

            THANKS SHANE R.I.P.

What can i say? This ski was meant for the deep stuff. Rides like a dream, even in un even snow just sit back and the ski charges any obstacles. Bit of a chore on groomers but in the powder there is no comparison.

                Comments about K2 Skis Pontoon:

Night and day in the pow compared to other powder skis. The floatation is unreal. Makes even shallow powder seem bottomless. This is strictly a powder ski. When you pop out from the trees and onto the hardpack, get ready for a laborous often bumpy ride. Other than that Ive never loved a ski more than the Pontoon. Thanks Shane...

Loved skiing the pontoons. Totally different skiing experience than any i've ever had. They were the first reverse camber skis i skied on and i loved it. they Float so well and ride so smooth that it has kind of a surfing feel if that makes any sense. I thought it would be hard to turn once i got on the groomed snow but it wasn't too bad. Shot through the crud and powder like it was nothing.

I've bought this skis two years ago when rocker skis in europe are a rarity, i've used them a lot in powder, even in open or woody rides, and they gave me a lot of fun, i would never stop skiing with the Pontoons!

                  Comments about K2 Skis Pontoon:

These are my favorite powder skis. I also own a pair of Spatulas and love them when I am in the powder and hate them on groomers and getback trails. The Toons actually ski well on groomers and don't tire me out getting to the lift after a powder run. I am 5'9" and ski the 179cm, no problem. I would love to try longer and shorter to compare. The 179's turn well and quick enough in the trees.
You do not have to use the old powder technique of sitting back and doing the up and downs with weight on both feet. The Pontoons and Spatulas ski in powder the same. Weight centered and just ski. You can slide them in powder to turn or bank them. I love to do an advance rotation of the upper body before my skis turn. I will just move my uphill hand, arm and shoulder out front and around toward the new direction and then my skis will come around. Is this what you do? It makes turning like going through melted butter.
If you don't have Pontoons get them. If you think a powder ski is just a wide ski think again. You need rocker dude, a must. I have been skiing powder for 40 years and rocker is the answer.
I can just blast into deep snow on the side of the trails from groomed and I don't have to sit back. My tips won't sink so all is good.
If you want powder skiing more days of the year than you can count, come to Bend, OR and ski Bachelor. We get powder that wont stop. It snows all the time and the weather report won't even know about it. See you on the slopes.
