Ski mountaineering the coulars surrounding the Atom Fiella, in Spitsbergen Norway, 500 miles from the North Pole.
How did you get started backcountry skiing?
I am always looking to ski something new and exciting. I kinda look at skiing like I look at hunting. Once I have taken one wild beast down I am always looking for my next prey. This thirst for new game forces me to leave the boundaries of safety and explore bigger and badder mountains taking me more often then not, out of the resort and into the backcountry.
Who is/was your ski hero?
My grandfather was my first ski hero because he taught me how to ski when I was 2 year old. As for my modern day ski hero's I would have to say Ingrid Backstrom, Jacqui Edgerly, and Angel Collinson!!!
Best skill/lesson someone taught you about the backcountry?
You must trust the people you ski with.
Most essential equipment?
Your Beacon and your Radio.
